Holding My Breath

by Lisa on May 16, 2008

There is more I want to share about my trip to Disney but right now I’m holding my breath.

Today I’ll find out two things:

1. If it’s my absolute final day at work, and…

2. The results of my CT scan and blood work…is the cancer situation worse, same, or O.K.?

So while I’m turning blue, passing out and hoping the building I work in doesn’t collapse due to blasting 200 feet away because the first two things are stressful enough, I’ll be planning my weekend of unpacking and wallpapering. God, knows there just isn’t enough of this stuff on bedroom walls.

Really, do I really get that stressed out? Nah, I just like holding my breath so see if I can match the color of that wall paper because who would I be if I clashed with the color of a room?

I’m not sure what it takes to really stress me out any more. Financial issues have always been a primary source of stress in my life but although I’m not financially secure they no longer control my life.

Do you have your limits or do are you letting the stress pile up until you explode? Or is the thought of that wall paper making you want to explode?

I’ll be holding my breath for you as well. But don’t let your head swell or anything, I am having a hard time breathing because I feel like I broke every rib in my body shampooing (on my hands and knees) the carpet. It hurts to breathe. But hey, the carpet looks really, really nice. Almost new!

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you today.

Fingers crossed and positive thoughts sent your way.

Stress about money sucks, I think it’s almost everyone though. Gas, food, child care it all goes UP UP UP but pay don’t.

I’m like Geek with the ulcers…even though I try really hard not to let things get to me.

I am also sending positive vibes your way.
When I get stressed I tuck it away somewhere else in my brain so it doesn’t mess with the good energy.
But other times I destroy inanimate objects. That helps too.

I’m a jaw clencher… I used to see red. Not so much anymore.

I am much better at stress management than I was.

Crossing my fingers for you.

I never used to get stressed until recently. I think it’s part of the whole growing up thing. When I was younger everything was always okay no matter what was going on around me. However I can’t compare it with what I’ve gone through these past few months. In my case it builds up until I collapse.

I hope the results from the tests turn out good. *hugs*

That wallpaper would totally do me in - LOL. I hope things are well…you’ve been in my thoughts & prayers. IF it was your last day at work, how did they justify it? That still floors me, but could very well be a blessing in disguise. Waiting to hear how it all went…

I internalize my stress, which my doctor says is bad for me. She says I need to scream more.

Hoping you get some good news!

Geek, I hope you are getting help for the ulcers. You need to relax, breath deep. BTW…bracelet is going out in Monday’s mail!

Mattie, Oye, the carpet. Mine needs to be done too. I just finished scrubbing dining room chairs and found out that Oxyclean works.

MrsRobbieD, You are right…all of us are feeling the pinch.

Matkins, I hope you are receiving treatment for the ulcers.

Missy Wiggins, Like smashing plates? I always wanted to throw plates against a brick wall.

annie, That wall paper is very time consuming.

Nat, Ouch…your jaw! Managing stress is tough but I’m gotten better over the years and through each crisis.

BB, Sorry to hear that things are going well.

Colin, Yes, it seems as we get older life piles more responsibility and more experience upon us which certainly can stress us out. You’ve had your share of stuff to deal with though.

Miss Britt, Let it out now…

Tug, I have so much to post about all of it I just don’t know where to begin…

Musing, Internalizing stress is so bad for you. There are so many things you can do externally to deal with it that are constructive. Blogging is one of them ;)
