Well my friends we are quickly approaching Act II of the show called “Chemotherapy”. It’s that time already where I have to repeat that ugly cycle of sitting still for three to four hours while I receive chemo through an IV.
But wait, there’s more. Next Thursday I’m having surgery before chemo! Isn’t that exciting? I’m thrilled to the nines! I’m having a port “installed” so that it will be easier to receive chemo and not excruciatingly painful like the first time. I have the feeling next Thursday will be funtastic!
By Saturday I can guarantee that the nauseating, tired cycle of sleepiness begins and lasts for a few days.
I’m not complaining. In fact I’d like you to be my guest. No, not at my house to watch me sleep unless of course you’d like to keep my children entertained or bring chicken soup. I’d love to have some guest posters. You would have free reign to write about ANYTHING you want.

Thanks for helping me out!

I was a chef before taking off to take care of my kids. I make a most excellent home made chicken soup with my own chicken stock I cook from scratch. Would that be helpful? I’d say I could guest post, but I have trouble thinking of stuff for my blog. Ha ha!

Good luck!
I hope you post an update on the port. I have a rare blood disease and have to get transfusions every two weeks. They keep begging me to get one inserted.

I have had a port for almost 2 years. It’s really a good thing. No problem at all. You’ll probably get one of the new power ports which can also be used for CT scans. Best of luck!!

I will be wishing you the best of luck with your port, and your second round of chemo! And, I am sorry I missed your bracelet sale! If you do make any more, I would love love love to buy one, but, it would have to fit my tiny wrists (seriously, I have to buy 6 3/4 inch bracelets- I am 5′8″ with the wrist size of a 12 yo!) so, if you get in the mood to make more, and you make a smaller one, let me know!!!!!!
I hope that you get to start your yoga, too! I have been teaching mat pilates, and love that, also.

My mom has a port - she loves it. She says it’s a hundred times better than what she had to go through before. I don’t mean to be cheerful about it, but you know how it is - even that kind of stuff is like, whoopee! when you are on the 4th cancer diagnosis. Also, are they giving you the good happy drugs to fight the nausea? She loved those, too. She got them this last time and they made all the difference. She even went away for a month and did chemo down in Florida, that’s how much better it was.
I hope it is a million times better for you, too.

Libragirl, Thank you…I’m going to come up with some sort of dysfunctional schedule…or put peoples names in a hat and pick or randomizer.org and go from there. That’s it Randomizer.org and schedule everyone around my chemo cuz it’s ugly when I go through that. So, THANK YOU!
Nina, Thanks! I have to email you because it looks like I’ll be going to Sloan Kettering the second week of July YAY. I don’t know all of the details yet or if we are just going to take the train and do it in one day.
Karen, Yay! Act II is totally here and Kettle Korn is my favorite flavor. Wait, is it “Corn” or “Korn” because the second is a band.
Lucy, You are in!
BF, Homemade chicken stock is the best. My mom has my Jewish (step)grandmother’s recipe which I believe has to cure cancer it’s so good. I lived on it during Act I and I some left in the freezer for Act II.
Wafelenbak, Do you know how challenged I am when I type your name? Thanks for the well wishes.
Mary, Thank you very much.
Avitable, Oh dear God…no porn unless it involves Smurfs with CareBears and even then that’s pushing it. No, I take that back. No porn. However you may write whatever you want.
Miss Britt, That sounds so sexy when you say it that way. RAWR!
Pam, I will post about the port. I hear they are the way to go.
Patsy, That’s really great to know! Thank you.
Christine, Let me check my materials and see what I have left. I may be able to make you a small bracelet.
I’m signed up for yoga and starting in two weeks!
EDW, I know we are talking about ports like they are fantabulous but when it comes to chemo they are like the Mercedes of IVs. IT is WHOOPEEE when you don’t have to go through pain.
Plus the “port” people walk around the chemo place like they are the cool kids…LOL
Shelli, You are on sister!
Geek, You have been committed. AND I have a new badgerbadgerbadger link to send you!

OMG - they totally do! The cool kids!

EDW, It is very true. They walk around the infusion center with their IV poles while they are getting chemo like, “I gotta a port! WORD!”
Of course I was in the newbie chair my first time because my center totally has a newbie section.
