Sprung From the Joint

in Acid Reflux Moments

I’m home from the hospital.  I was discharged yesterday but when I came home I slept to catch up on the sleep I lost while I was there.  You know they have to wake you up every three hours to check your vitals.  At least they were nice about it.

When I woke up yesterday morning I noticed that there was hair all over my pillow.  Then I ran my finger through my very short hair and came out with a handful.  It turns out that it decided to fall out while I was in the hospital.  My hair had only started to grow back in but still it was a mess so one of the nurses volunteered to shave it all off.  I told her about the video my sister and I made the first time I shaved my hair.  I think she was kind of bummed out we couldn’t do the same thing.

The doctors never figured out what was wrong with me.  They think it the swelling in my face might have something to do with the steroids I was taking prior to chemo and two days after chemo.  It might possibly be a delayed reaction.

I’m happy to be out so I can go to the Bead Expo today.  I was so afraid I wouldn’t be able to go.  I know I should probably be resting today but the Bead Expo comes one time a year so I’m NOT missing it.

Thanks to all of you who send all your good vibes and good thoughts my way.  I really appreciate it so very much!

I’m so glad you’ve made it home. I’m sorry they couldn’t pinpoint exactly what caused things but I’m also glad it passed.

I could never sleep in the hospital either because of the vital check every few hours. You’re suppose to get better yet you can’t flipping sleep! UGH. lol.

I hope you have an amazing time at the Bead Expo and while yes, you probably should be resting you’ve earned some fun so go wild. ;)

Big hugz

Glad you are sprung and sorry about the falling out hair without chance ot make shaving head video. Great about the bead expo. I wonder what treasures you will find. I’m envious.

21 Lisa 08.24.08 at 8:12 pm

DutchBitch, I’m glad to be home too, thanks.

Fernanda, Yes and the Bead Expo was great.

Nat, I hope that woman is doing well.

HeatherK, I got a lot of goodies and will be making lots of really cool bracelets.

Christine, It was a lot of fun. There were TONS of beads to choose from.

Mattie, Nah…I went alone and totally over did it. Then I spent all day today organizing my beads.

Blondefabulous, It was really cool and I found some really great stuff that you just can’t get any where else. Plus I totally over did it.

Finn, The Bead Expo is where a ton of bead vendors come to the convention center to sell all kinds of different beads and bead supplies. It’s like a jewelry makers heaven.

Fantastagirl, I did have an awesome time at the expo!!

Shelli, Thanks..and thanks for the good thoughts and prayers.

Crys, Yes…the hospital kind of sucks.

Jo, Well…I’m still swollen. They think it’s the steroids that I have to take before chemo and that this is a delayed reaction. I definitely should have been resting instead of going to the Bead Expo but I was looking forward to it for the longest time.

Tug, They aren’t sure what is causing the swelling which is kind of a bummer.

Defendusa, I got some really cool pearls that are dyed different colors. The woman selling them gave me a great discount since I told her I make cancer awareness bracelets and her mom has cancer.

Captain Steve, I had a great time at the Bead Expo.

Maureen, I’m glad to be home too.

Sarah, I had a lot of fun at the expo!

misfithausfrau, I did exactly that.

hello haha narf, Just tell me what you want and I’ll custom make you whatever you want.

Victoria, I think that nurse was pretty bummed out that she missed out on getting on YouTube. I found some fantastic treasures at the Bead Expo.

I took steroids for lupus 18 years ago. I still take it, but it very small doses. Remember to hydrate and moisturize. I have crazy stretch marks from the high dosage. I know it’s not your biggest problem right now, just wanted you to know I remember what it’s like to have the “moon face.” It will get better soon.

Smiley: Thankfully I hydrate and moisturize like crazy. I go through five to six bottles of spring water daily and I compulsively moisturize because I hate dry skin.
